Senior Advisor to the Governor for Workforce

Biography of Daniel G. LeBlanc

As Senior Advisor for Workforce, Mr. LeBlanc serves as a member of Governor Tim Kaine’s Cabinet in his role as Chief Workforce Development Officer.  Mr. LeBlanc’s responsibilities include advising the Governor on all workforce development matters. Mr. LeBlanc also chairs the Workforce Sub Cabinet. In this role, he coordinates with the Virginia Community College System and mandated State government representatives in order to realize the Governor’s vision for workforce development.

Mr. LeBlanc oversaw the development and implementation of the Commonwealth’s first ever Strategic Plan for Workforce Development. He also worked across Secretariats to achieve consensus on a State Partner Memorandum of Understanding for Comprehensive One Stop Centers, a landmark directive for workforce service delivery in the Commonwealth.

Mr. LeBlanc has extensive workforce experience from the shop floor to the Virginia Workforce Council.  Prior to joining the Kaine Administration, Mr. LeBlanc worked for the Virginia AFL-CIO where served as President for over a decade.

Mr. LeBlanc has been a Virginia resident most of his adult life and is an Army Veteran.  He and his wife Mary live in the Richmond area, and they have three children and six grandchildren.
